Vote
Once locking your VEX (a single stake), you can give your vote on the liquidity pools to receive VEX rewards that week. The voting power of each lock is proportional to the lock's duration; for example, 1 VEX locked for 6 months has far greater voting power than 1 VEX locked for 6 weeks. The dashboard reflects the voting power of VEX whenever voting is done.
Vote decay and lock adjustments
In that lock, your voting power gradually finds its way into decay. To exert more voting influence, you could prolong the lock duration. This prevents old lockers from earning a permanent value by adopting a mechanism called Vote Decay to maintain fairness.
āļø Restore lost voting power by extending your lock duration. āļø Extend and merge your locks into one for ease of management.
Unlike other models of veDEX on Alephium, you are not required to use all your veVEX for a single vote here. Indeed it is possible to split your vote across pools and extend the voting influence of a single lock.
Voting frequency and epoch system
š¹ Votes do NOT carry over to the next epoch ā You must vote again each week. š¹ If you forget to vote, your voting power is not used and will be wasted for that epoch.
ā ļø Make sure to vote every epoch to maximize your rewards!
Adjusting your lock after voting
āļø If you increase your lock amount (add more VEX to an existing lock) after voting, you must Poke your lock using the Poke Button to update your voting power. āļø You must Poke your lock after claiming your rebase, as your new voting power must be recalculated. āļø Poking refreshes your lock and allows you to vote with the updated voting power.
Voting rewards and distribution
āļø The voting rewards get allocated in the nearest epoch, not instantly. āļø Claims for bribes, fees, and emissions go out weekly and depend on the chosen pools. Your locking of VEX leads to the receipt being an NFT (veNFT), also known as a vote escrowed NFT, which not only represents your locked position but can also be transferred between users on a marketplace such as Alphaga.
